The Derms Dish About FAQs
Whether you’re a longtime patient (we love you for it!) or new to our dermatology family (welcome!), you most likely have questions about your skin and treatments we offer.
Today the derms answer the top 6 most frequently asked questions:
Q: Do you need to wear sunscreen while working from home?
A: We recommend applying a Vitamin C serum that contains 10% L-ascorbic acid and a sunscreen on top—yes, even while working from home. Sunscreen should always be a part of your morning routine. That way your skin is protected even if you have to run out for a last-minute dinner ingredient or take your conference call on the patio (maybe with a glass of wine—no judgment).
Q: How long does Botox last?
A: When injected into the skin, Botox work to relax the facial muscles and create a smooth surface. The effects gradually wear off. For most people, this happens at about three months, but the range is two to six months.
Q: Cryolipolysis Non-Invasive Fat Removal—how do I know if it’s fat or extra skin?
A: If you can pinch more than an inch, there’s likely fat there. Our Cryolipolysis Non-Invasive Fat Removal expert, Eszter, will meet with you and design the perfect treatment plan for your body.
Q: Why is it important to choose a board-certified dermatologist?
A: Board certification is a critical factor to consider when finding a dermatologist. It tells you that the doctor has the necessary training, skills, and experience to provide healthcare in dermatology. Say no to the at-home botox parties!
Q: What is one skincare product and treatment the derms can’t live without?
A: Sunscreen, obviously. As far as treatment goes—we love dermal fillers. You can achieve a natural lift with very little product and minimal recovery. Win-win.
Q: What’s the best all-around treatment?
A: The Hybrid Fractional Laser, an innovative laser treatment, is a Compass favorite for improving pigmentation and texture with hardly any downtime.
