What is Coolscupting?
Coolsculpting is a non-invasive treatment to permanently reduce unwanted fat (how cool is that?). Treatment areas include the area under the chin, the abdomen, upper arms, flanks (love handles), and inner and outer thighs. A suction applicator delivers precisely controlled cooling to specifically target fat cells without affecting the overlying skin. This is possible because fat freezes at a higher temperature than the skin.
When fat cells freeze, the cellular injury triggers a process (apoptosis) that leads to the permanent elimination of the treated fat cells.
On average, each Coolsculpting cycle results in a 20% reduction of fat in the treated area. Final results are seen three months following the procedure.
Multiple cycles can be administered in the same area to achieve desired results.

How Does Coolsculpting Work?
The technology behind Coolsculpting treatment hinges on one pivotal factor: fat cells are more vulnerable to cold temperatures than skin or muscle cells.
Fat cells that are exposed to low temperatures break down in a process known as cryolipolysis. During a Coolsculpting procedure, the Coolsculpting device carefully calibrates the treatment temperature: high enough not to cause damage to the skin and low enough to disintegrate unwanted fat.
When fat cells freeze during a Coolsculpting session, the cellular injury triggers the process of apoptosis, permanently eliminating fat cells in the targeted area.
On average, each Coolsculpting cycle results in a 20% reduction of fat in the treated area, and final results are seen three months following the procedure.
Our Comprehensive Approach to Coolsculpting
An initial free consultation with one of our Coolsculpting experts is key to planning your Coolsculpting transformation. During your consultation, it’s important to discuss your body goals and the specific areas of fat that trouble you. This will help our team determine how best to achieve your desired fat loss results.
A Coolsculpting treatment takes from one and a half to four hours, depending on the number of areas to be treated. During this time, one of our Coolsculpting experts will apply an applicator with suction. When the treatment begins, you will feel a very cold sensation, and then the area becomes numb. During your treatment, you will be comfortable. You can relax, read or watch television.
Once the treatment is complete, the tissue is massaged to encourage fat elimination. You’re then free to return to your normal daily activities. The treated areas typically feel a little numb and are often slightly swollen for a few days.
Depending on the amount of fat reduction you desire, you may require several Coolsculpting treatments to achieve your desired outcome. Contact us to book a complimentary Coolsculpting consultation with one of our experts so you can understand how Coolsculpting can benefit you.
Coolsculpting FAQ
Coolsculpting is FDA and Health Canada approved for the targeted reduction of fat cells in multiple locations, including under the chin, the abdomen, flanks (love handles), thighs, and arms. Multiple peer-reviewed publications have demonstrated the effectiveness of Coolsculpting technology in the reduction of stubborn fat deposits without harming surrounding tissues. Results may vary, but on average, we see a 20% fat reduction with each Coolsculpting treatment.
You may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after your treatment, and you will notice the most dramatic results after two to three months.
Coolsculpting isn’t a weight-loss solution. It is very effective for spot fat reduction and sculpting of your body through precisely-controlled cooling of fat cells. It can help make your clothes fit better, but it will not reduce your weight.
When it comes to losing weight, there are medical procedures that can be an option for those who want to lose substantial body fat. Such procedures include liposuction and gastric bypass surgery. For most people, however, surgical procedures aren't necessary. Diet and exercise are the best tools to use for weight loss. Moreover, a healthy lifestyle and an exercise routine aren't just helpful ways to reduce fat; they are also great for overall wellbeing.
Coolsculpting is a very comfortable treatment. At the start of the treatment, the treatment area is cooled and quickly becomes numb. There is a brief massage at the end of the cycle, which some patients find slightly uncomfortable.
There is minimal recovery time following Coolsculpting. Swelling in surrounding tissue is common and typically resolves in less than three weeks. Less commonly, patients report mild numbness or tenderness, bruising, redness, or firmness. These side effects are temporary and typically resolve within three weeks as your body naturally processes the damaged fat cells.
In addition to fat reduction, Coolsculpting has been noted to reduce skin laxity, likely as a result of stimulation of collagen production. If additional tightening of loose skin is needed, Coolsculpting can be followed by ultrasound tightening of the skin with Ultherapy.
Coolsculpting eliminates targeted fat cells permanently. With a healthy lifestyle and diet, results are long-lasting.
Coolsculpting is an effective treatment for eliminating arm fat on the upper arms.
A Coolsculpting fat-reduction procedure works by freezing fat cells underneath the skin. Frozen fat cells are then naturally eliminated from the body. Each Coolsculpting procedure results in an average of 20% reduction in the treated fat cells, though results may vary. You will begin to see changes within a few weeks and the full benefits about three months after each Coolsculpting treatment. Remaining fat cells can be targeted by an additional Coolsculpting treatment.
The total number of Coolsculpting treatments you will need will ultimately depend upon the results you would like to see. At your initial consultation, we can give you a clearer sense of how many treatments you may need based upon your goals.
Coolsculpting starts at $750. Final Coolsculpting cost depends on the areas treated and the number of sessions needed. Call or text us at 647-351-9277 to book your complimentary consultation.
A Coolsculpting procedure is a very safe, non-surgical way to reduce fat in areas like the neck (to reduce a double chin), back, arms, torso, and inner thighs. The Coolsculpting technology is able to target fat cells because of their greater sensitivity to cold. During treatment, only these fat cells are damaged, leaving surrounding tissues unharmed.
A Coolsculpting procedure completely destroys targeted fat cells. In that sense, the results you'll achieve with Coolsculpting treatment are permanent. But it is always possible for you to gain weight after your Coolsculpting procedure. The best things you can do are eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. Fortunately for those considering Coolsculpting, Toronto offers plenty of opportunities to pursue an active and healthy lifestyle.
