Solutions that Respect Your Skin
Our dermatologists customize your acne treatment, so you won’t have the same treatment plan as any other patient. This is because your skin is unique and so are your expectations.
Your extensive consultation involves a skin assessment to examine your skin at depth to pinpoint irregularities that could contribute to your acne and acne scars, as well as a thorough discussion of your lifestyle habits that may also be adversely affecting your skin. This helps us understand your condition better, as acne is a complex condition that can be caused by a variety of factors.
We’ve routinely helped models and celebrities achieve and maintain a clearer complexion, and we can do the same for you with state-of-the-art acne treatments specifically tailored for each patient. As a result of our successful track record, we have become internationally renowned for the ability to clarify mild to severe acne relatively quickly without extensive downtime.
Our acne treatment systems can target the bacteria that causes acne, Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes) and the conditions in which it thrives. This achieves a visible improvement not just for acne and acne scars, but also for the appearance of your skin overall. Each technology can be used alone or as part of a more comprehensive and aggressive approach.
While the face is the most popular area to treat, our technologies are equally effective for other areas on the body, including your chest, back, and shoulders.
Acne & Acne Scar Treatment FAQ
Dermatologists have extensive knowledge of the skin, due to their additional specialized training following medical school. In fact, part of this training focuses on acne and acne scars. This allows them to first assess your skin, then formulate a treatment plan that can more effectively resolve these issues. There are a multitude of technologies and drugs that are designed to treat acne and acne scars, but we offer only those that have been extensively proven to be safe and effective.
Acne is created by an abnormal development of cells inside the hair follicle and excess oil production that act as a plug within the follicle. This leads to an accumulation of the harmful bacterium responsible for acne, Cutibacterium acnes (C.acnes), causing inflammation and even pain.
The causes of acne include:
- genetics
- topical products to which your skin reacts negatively
- hormonal fluctuations
- stress
- certain medications
- underlying health issues
To eliminate acne, you must target the bacteria that causes acne: Cutibacterium acnes (C.acnes). Successful treatment relies on restricting the environmental factors on the skin that allow P.acnes to thrive, such as excess sebum production.
For example, the photofacial rejuvenation technology we offer has been found to reduce the presence of acne by about 50% after just four sessions, as shown in a 2010 study that appeared in the Indian Journal of Dermatology. More improvement can be achieved with subsequent sessions. Multiple treatment modalities in combination achieve the best results.
Acne scars can be reduced in appearance to a certain extent. Scars of any kind are extremely difficult to eliminate entirely, therefore the key to a successful treatment is to reduce their appearance and have realistic expectations of outcomes.
Acne scars can be reduced in appearance with lasers, injectables and mechanical exfoliation technologies. Lasers and mechanical exfoliation both work by restructuring and renewing the skin cells, boosting collagen production to gradually smooth out scars and irregular texures. Injectables are used to fill out indentations, particularly pockmarks and icepick scars.
Patients may achieve successful results by undergoing just one treatment option, or a combination of options.
Our dermatologists and medical aestheticians apply advanced techniques that have been scientifically proven to decrease the appearance of acne scars. The best treatment for your scars depends on an assessment performed by one of our dermatologists.
