Is this body part giving away your age?

dé·colle·tage:

A French term referring to the upper part of a woman's torso, comprised of the neck, chest, and shoulders.

This area is often overlooked when it comes to skin health, but neglecting this region is a sure-fire way to display tell-tale signs of aging.

As we age, our skin loses volume and elasticity. Most of this damage results from sun-exposure, but smoking can be a huge culprit as well. Skin starts to become “crepe-like” in appearance, especially in the neck and chest area. Our clinic can help you rejuvenate this region by replenishing lost volume and improving elasticity. For recommended treatments, read more here.

A specific type of sun damage called Poikiloderma of Civatte, is less commonly known, and often mistaken for a rash. This condition presents as a reddish-brown mottling of the sides of the neck. The V-shaped area of the neck directly under the chin remains unaffected, resulting in a U-shaped discoloration. Broadband light (BBL) is the optimal treatment, and extending daily sunscreen protection onto the neck is key for prevention.NOVEMBER SPECIAL: Add the décolletage area to your BBL or Gentle Fractional laser treatment for only $100. ($360 value!)*

Congratulations to our monthly giveaway winner, Ursula C., who wins her choice of a free décolletage BBL or Gentle Fractional laser treatment! We'll contact you directly to schedule your appointment.

For men and women looking to improve their double-chin, there’s a new treatment on the horizon that is minimally invasive and very effective. Compass Dermatology will be one of the first clinics to offer Deoxycholic Acid Injectable , a non-surgical approach to reduce moderate to severe fat on the upper neck. Stay tuned, we’ll send out details as it becomes available, most likely in early 2016!
