What is Sylfirm X Radiofrequency Microneedling?
Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling combines two modalities, microneedling and radiofrequency energy, to improve skin laxity, texture, and tone. Sylfirm X is a new generation RF microneedling device that utilizes gold-plated microneedles to penetrate up to 4mm into the skin. A robotic system controls the precise application of microelectrodes to the desired depth. The unique dual wave radiofrequency energy targets abnormal blood vessels and pigmentation and stimulates collagen production.
Sylfirm X is an effective treatment for melasma, broken blood vessels and redness, scars, acne, wrinkles and other signs of aging. It is the only RF microneedling device Health Canada approved for treatment of the eyelids and is an excellent treatment for signs of aging around the eyes.
How many treatments are needed?
Most patients require three to six treatments to achieve their desired results. Treatments are performed every 4-6 weeks. Sessions last 30-60 minutes, depending on the areas being treated.
Is Sylfirm X painful?
Most patients find this treatment to be very tolerable. A topical numbing cream is applied prior to treatment to increase your comfort. Some patients may require additional measures, which can be provided in our office under the guidance of our board-certified dermatologists.

How do I care for my skin following my Sylfirm X treatment?
Following your Sylfirm X treatment, your skin will be slightly red for several hours. There may be a few areas of pinpoint bruising. You may apply products which promote barrier repair, such as Alastin Skin Nectar and Recovery Balm, or SkinCeuticals Epidermal Repair. The day following your treatment you may gently cleanse your skin and apply a barrier repair product and tinted mineral sunscreen. Avoid use of active ingredients (such as retinol, salicylic or glycolic acid, and vitamin C serum) for one week.
When will I see the results of my Sylfirm X treatment?
How long will my Sylfirm X results last?
Sylfirm X results are long-lasting and can be maintained with diligent skincare and sun protection. However, the aging process will continue, and additional treatments will be required for maintenance.
