Sensitive Skin? Stay Fresh This Season
If you have sensitive skin, you know the struggle of finding products that work for you. And now that winter is right around the corner, you’re likely dreading what dry air, cold temperatures, and itchy scarves and sweaters will do to it.
Don’t sweat the change in season, Friend—we’re here to help.
First, let’s talk about sensitive skin itself. The phrase “sensitive skin” is actually a marketing term… not a medical condition. (Not that it makes your skin challenges any less challenging!) Beauty, cosmetic, and body care companies typically use this phrase to describe products that have fewer harsh chemicals, strong fragrances, and other common irritants.
So what does that mean for your skin? People self-describe as “sensitive” when they frequently experience redness or have dermatologist-diagnosable rosacea. However, sometimes people experience skin sensitivities when they’re simply not using the right products for themselves.
Of course, avoiding irritants and common triggers can be a challenge on its own. If you experience frequent redness, here are a few products and treatments we recommend to support your unique skin and weather the wintry seasons:
AlphaRet®
This unique (and patented) combination of retinoid and alpha hydroxy acid—brought to us by skinbetter—is a great way to rejuvenate skin with little-to-no irritation. It’s effective and gentle, improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven tone, and texture.
SkinVive
Many people struggle with skin smoothness, quality, and hydration… especially in dry, cold weather. This injectable hyaluronic acid gel is essentially injectable hydration, but it also increases collagen prodection, leading to a firmer, dewy, glass skin appearance.
BroadBand Light (BBL)
Treat rosacea—as well as brown spots and broken blood vessels—with this light-based treatment. It also improves collagen and skin quality without being harsh or requiring a long recovery time.
Although these treatments work well in general, it’s important to remember that every person’s skin is unique and will react differently. If you’re really struggling with your skin sensitivity, you should schedule a consultation with us. With our industry-leading expertise, we’ll help you develop a custom plan that will keep you looking and feeling fresh.
